One of the most important part of the CP World Games besides the sports competition, as a result of all the efforts the LOC and CPISRA are doing, are all the surrounding activities to develop new sports like Boccia, Female CP Football or Wheelchair Slalom with the training camps, conferences and Proud Paralympian programme.
Specially focused in Wheelchair Slalom, the Catalan Sports Federation for People with Cerebral Palsy (FECPC) is working together since the beginning of the year with four other partners: PCAND of Portugal, HPO of Croatia, ÖBSV of Austria and IRS from Italy with the aim to develop Wheelchair Slalom all-around Europe as an inclusion tool. During the CP World Games, on Wednesday 8th of August being a part of the CPISRA General Assembly, all the partners of the project will present the 1st Wheelchair Slalom International Conference, as a unique platform for the promotion of this sport and for dissemination of results of the W-Slalom project, presented by Ana Barradas, part of the project and an expert from PCAND. Also, athletes of three different countries will take part of the training camp, on 8th and 9th of August, to improve their skills on Wheelchair Slalom. After two days of learning, they will face each other in the timed and individual elimination events, on 10th and 11th of August. The Wheelchair Slalom training camp and the competition will be held on Rambla del Celler pavilion. The Wheelchair Slalom project it I being possible thanks to the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
