The PCAND (Paralisia Cerebral, Associação Nacional de Desporto) of Portugal is organizing the CPISRA Multi-Sports Development Games. The competition will be held on Portimão from 2nd to 6th of October and Wheelchair Slalom will be one of the three developing sports practiced in the Games, together with Boccia and Race Running.
The organization of the games is looking to provide a development and education experience to introduce, encourage and grow participation in race running and wheelchair slalom and, simultaneously, to enhance competitive opportunities and pathways.
PCAND is one of the partners of the Wheelchair Slalom project co-founded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
The overall objective of W-Slalom is to increase the social inclusion of children with motor disabilities, age 6 to 18, by promoting the wheelchair slalom sport as a way of enhancing their physical abilities and psychological benefits.
